SAC members, Union ministers inaugurate Diamond Jubilee Kachin State Day ceremony, attend Myanmar Traditional Boxing Challenges
The opening ceremony of the 75th Anniversary
(Diamond Jubilee) Kachin State Day which falls on 10 January 2023 was held
with the traditional Manaw dance revealing the unity of the indigenous peoples,
on the lawn in front of the Kachin Government Office at 8 am yesterday.
State Administration Council members
Jeng Phang Naw Taung, U Moung Har, U Sai Lon Seng and U Shwe Kyein, Union
Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, U Maung Maung Ohn, U Hla Moe, U Thaung Han, U
Aung Naing Oo, Dr Nyunt Pe, U Min Thein Zan, U Myo Thant and U Saw Tun Aung
Myint, Deputy Ministers Maj- Gen Phyo Thant and U Zaw Aye Maung were present at
the ceremony. Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and members,
Advocate-General of Kachin State and ethnic traditional cultural troupes welcomed
them with a traditional dance.
The ceremonies were opened by Union
ministers and deputy ministers by cutting the ribbon.
Next, SAC members and officials, six
Kachin tribes in Kachin State, five Shan clans and Bamar ethnic cultural
troupes, trainees from the education degree college and the nursing school,
and students from the Border Youth Development School happily enjoyed the
traditional Manaw dance with the lead of Nau Shawng (leaders of Manaw dance).
Then, SAC members and officials viewed
round the exhibition booths of respective departments.
Later, SAC members and the party cut the
ribbon to open the Myanmar Traditional Boxing Challenges, co-hosted by the
Sports and Physical Education Department and the Myanmar Traditional Boxing
Federation (Upper Myanmar) to mark the Diamond Jubilee Kachin State Day, and
