Informative talk on scourge of drug held in Maungdaw Township

With the aim of raising the awareness on scourge of drugs among youths, informative talk on scourge of drugs was held at the meeting room of the training school of Progress of Border Areas and National Races Department in Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State yesterday morning.

First, Assistant Director of the District Information and Public Relations Department gave an opening remark and clarified the purpose of the talks and detailed the risks of drugs, and offences and penalties for drug cases and preventive measures against drugs.

Afterwards, U Sit Aung, headmaster of Progress of Border Areas and National Races training school discussed matters relating to scourge of drugs and detailed the disadvantage of drugs and discipline to be abode by students. 

In addition, students have read the books displayed to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking which falls on June 26.—Thet Lwin Soe(District IPRD)
