Tatmadaw (Navy) transports relief supplies to people in Mocha-hit Rakhine State

Pyitawaye-2 from the Tatmadaw
(Navy) left the Bo Aung Kyaw Port, Yangon, for Sittway yesterday afternoon to
deliver the necessary materials to the people affected by the extremely severe
Cyclone Mocha in Sittway, Rakhine State.
The vessel containing 13,850 bags
of rice weighing 40 kilogrammes each, 568 six-pyi rice bags, 400 cartons of
ready-to-eat rice, 10 mini tractors, and 14 power-tillers donated by the Ministry
of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation; 650 cartons of blankets and mosquito
nets, and 18,930 sets of school uniforms provided by the Department of Disaster
Management; and 2,333 cartons of nails donated by the Myanmar Economic
Corporation, weighing a total of 665 tonnes of cargo.
Similarly, one 29-metre landing
craft transported 4,000 CI sheets, 403 pieces of timbers, 169 packs of purified
water bottles, 100 palm oil bottles, 120 bottles of vegetable oil, 10 peanut
oil bottles, six sacks of dried rice noodles, one sack of fish sauce bottles,
100 packs of fried fish paste, 90 cartons of instant noodles, two cartons of
various snacks, 32 cartons of biscuits, and 38 cartons of medical supplies
supported by the Rakhine State government to Minbya jetty.
The relief materials carried by
the military vessels will be handed over to the officials in an orderly manner
and distributed to the people affected by the storm a s soon as possible. —
