Pregnant women, kids under 2 years old in Myawady Township provided with cash assistance

An event to present cash assistance to pregnant women and children under 2 years old was held at the office of No. 3 Ward Administrator in the town of Myawady, Kayin State this morning.

At the event, Ward Administrator U Shwe Tin said that “the purpose of cash aid is to provide better nutrient to kids and expectant mothers”. Then, he elaborated matters relating to the provision of cash assistance for pregnant women and children.

Afterwards, wards administrator, members of the District Women’s Affairs Federation and responsible persons presented over Ks. 2.3 million to 52 expectant mothers and over Ks. 7.8 million to 190 children below 2 years old for the months of April, May and June for this fiscal year.

Officials from the Township Department of Social Welfare will continue to provide cash to pregnant women and children below 2 years old in the remaining wards and villages in Myawady Township.—Zar Phyu Win (IPRD)
