78th Union Day celebrations held nationwide

 

THE ceremonies commem­orating the 78th anniversary of the Union Day took place in respective regions, states and self-administered division and zones yesterday. Also pres­ent at the ceremonies were chief ministers of regions and states, regional commanders, township-level departmental officials, social welfare organi­zations, teachers, students and locals.

 

First, the chief ministers of regions and states, region­al commanders and attendees saluted the State Flag, and the fallen martyrs and soldiers. Then, the respective officials read out the message sent by State Administration Coun­cil Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing to the occasion.

 

Then, the officials inaugu­rated the vegetables, fruits and horticulture exhibition compe­tition, and sports events mark­ing the 78th Union Day. They observed the departmental and private booths at the event.

 

Moreover, the officials awarded the departmental staff and students who won in competitions and sports events and served ethnic traditional food.

 

In the evening, the colour­ful fireworks display shows and funfairs were organized in re­spective regions, states and self-administered division and zones. — MNA/KTZH
