Tourist arrivals in Nepal up in January
Foreign tourist
arrivals in Nepal grew in January, the Nepal Tourism Board said on Sunday.
As many as 79,991
foreigners visited Nepal in the reporting month, up from 79,100 over the same
period last year.
The tourism revival was
98 percent compared with the number in 2019, when 81,273 tourists arrived in
the first month of the year, Mani Raj, director of the board, told Xinhua.
Indians, Chinese and
Americans were the main sources of tourists for Nepal in January.
Tourism is a major
foreign currency earner and job creator for Nepal, and the South Asian country
welcomed 1,147,567 foreign tourists in 2024.
