Book launch and donation ceremony for Dreams from My Father held
A book launch and donation ceremony for
Dreams from My Father (the first book of Barack Obama), translated by Saya Shwe
O Latt, was held on 3 December at the Central Hotel in Yangon.
Saya Shwe O Latt explained the contents
of the book, the purpose of translating it, and the objectives of holding the
launch event. Madam Susan from the US Embassy and Saya Myinmu Maung Naing Moe,
chairman of Myanmar Writers’ Association, made remarks.
The author donated 150 copies of book to
the libraries of IPRD, and the relevant official received the donation and
gave the certificate of honour in return.
The book contains 19 chapters detailing
the childhood, student life, political entry, and political journey related
experiences of Barack Hussein Obama, the first African-American President of
the United States.
The event was attended by relevant
officials of respective embassies, great writers, book lovers and invitees. —
