Pleasant stairways ensured for pilgrims at Maha Muni Buddha Image



Religious buildings damaged by the earthquake are be­ing restored to their original form to ensure their long-term preservation and continued ex­istence.

 

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing guided officials to systematically keep the stairways pleasant for pilgrims during his inspection tour of renovating the damaged religious buildings at the Maha Muni Buddha Image in Mandalay.

 

Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accom­panied by his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Com­mission Secretary and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo and his wife, the Mandalay Region chief minister, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and the commander of Central Command, paid homage to Maha Muni Buddha Image in Mandalay yesterday morning and inspected the ren­ovation of damaged religious buildings caused by the earthquake.

 

The Senior General and his wife cor­dially greeted pilgrims and offered alms in the alms-bowl, fruit, flowers and water to the Buddha image.

 

The Senior General looked into the renovation of the religious buildings in their original states and gave guidance on the systematic work process in repairing the damaged buildings and the construc­tion of new structures to have long-term existence.

 

The Senior General and his wife do­nated cash to the fund for the overall reno­vation of the Buddha Image to the officials.

 

At the foreign donated items museum and hanging Yadana hall, the Senior Gen­eral viewed around the systematic keeping of jewellery items donated by well-wishers and precious ornaments hung at the dia­mond orb and the pennant-shaped vane which fell on the ground due to the earth­quake and gave necessary instructions to officials.

 

At the stairway, the Senior General guided officials to systematically keep the stairways pleasant for pilgrims and cor­dially greeted the pilgrims. — MNA/TTA
