S. Korea's exports rise 8.4 pct in November
South Korea's exports
rose for the sixth consecutive month in November due to robust semiconductor
and automotive shipments, government data showed Monday.
Exports gained 8.4
percent to 61.04 billion U.S. dollars in November compared to the same month of
last year, continuing to increase since June, according to the Ministry of
Trade, Industry and Resources.
The daily average
exports jumped 13.3 percent to 2.71 billion dollars, marking the highest-ever
November performance.
Imports added 1.2
percent to 51.30 billion dollars last month.
Semiconductor exports
soared 38.6 percent over the year to hit a new record high of 17.26 billion
dollars in November, thanks to the proliferation of artificial intelligence.
Automotive shipments
spiked 13.7 percent to 6.41 billion dollars on the back of solid demand from
the United States.
Exports to the United
States, the European Union, Japan and Latin America fell, while shipments to
the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the Middle East rose.
