SAC members attend opening ceremony of Inter-State/ Region Boxing Tournament 2022

THE opening ceremony of
the Inter-State/Region Boxing Tournament was held at the Boxing Gymnasium of
Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
State Administration
Council members Mahn Nyein Maung, Daw Aye Nu Sein, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, U
Moung Har, U Sai Lone Saing, Saw Daniel, Dr Banyar Aung Moe and U Shwe Kyein
and Chairman of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union U Thar Htay, Chairman
of the Union Election Commission U Thein Soe, Union Ministers LtGen Tun Tun
Naung, Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, U Min Thein Zan, U Shwe Lay, U Saw Tun Aung Myint and
Dr Htay Aung, Deputy Ministers U San Lwin, U Myint Soe, U Myo Hlaing and U Zaw
Aye Maung attended the ceremony.
First, Union Minister U
Min Thein Zan called for the emergence of a new generation of athletes who are
healthy and friendly among the various ethnic groups in various regions.
Increasing the interest
of young people in boxing and developing the boxing sport is important, he
said. The competitions are aimed at producing brave, healthy and brilliant new
athletes representing the country. To win the tourney fairly, it is necessary
to compete with the utmost purity of sports spirit.
Athletes need to show
their talent and respect the rules and regulations set by the tournament, the
Union minister added.
He urged the new
generation to strive to become good boxers and launched the boxing tournament.
Afterwards, the
athletes took their sports oaths and the members of the State Administration
Council and the Union Minister greeted the athletes.
In the 56-kilo Men’s
Event, Saw Atit from Kayin State fought with Shine Nge from Shan State.
In the 60-kilo Men’s
Event, Nute Marr from Kachin State fought against Saw Bwe Kalo from Yangon
Region.
In the 48-kilo Women’s
Event, Thin Thin Khaing from Magwe Region faced Aye Aye Pyae from Taninthayi
Region.
The Union minister
addressed the opening ceremony of the International Shooting Training Course No
(1/2022) jointly organized by the Myanmar Shooting Federation and the Tatmadaw
Shooting Committee led by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs at the
Multipurpose Hall at the Gold Camp, Nay Pyi Taw Sports Training Centre. — MNA
