Alms food offered to Buddhist monks at Yangon City Hall to commemorate 75th Martyrs' Day

ALMS food was donated
to venerable Bhuddhist monks as a commemoration service to the martyrs of
national independence at the meeting room of the City Hall of the Yangon City
Development Committee at 10:30 am yesterday.
Chairman of the Central
Committee for Organizing the 75th Martyrs’ Day Ceremony Union Minister for
Religion Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Yangon Region Security and Border
Affairs Minister Colonel Win Tint, Chief Justice Daw Sandar Thwe of the Region
High Court, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Dr Moe Zaw Tun,
the Yangon mayor, committee members and guests attended the ceremony.
First, Vice-Chairman of
the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma
Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Kovida Meiktila Sayadaw administered the Five Precepts.
Members of the Sangha recited Metta Sutta, and the congregation offered alms
and meals.
Joint-Secretary of the
State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta
Pannadhaja Pazundaung Sayadaw delivered a sermon and the congregation shared
merits gained in dedication to General Aung San and martyrs. — MNA
