169 workers leave for Thailand under MoU via Kawthoung-Ranong border

A total of 169 Myanmar workers
left for Thailand under the MoU system through the Kawthoung-Ranong border on
20 December, according to overseas employment agencies.
SMZ Co Ltd, an overseas
employment agency (Thai licence holder), sent 134 men and 35 women from
Kawthoung to Ranong to work at Southland Resources Co Ltd in Thailand under a
two-year contract.
The Kawthoung District Labour
Department, Immigration and Population Department, Anti-Human Trafficking Task
Force and relevant organizations made necessary inspections for Myanmar MoU
workers.
There are 114 overseas employment
agencies (Thai licence holders) to officially despatch Myanmar workers to
Thailand under the MoU system and, as 214,013 demand letters have been
received, a total of 150,637 Myanmar workers will be recruited. — TWA/MKKS
