Myanmar suffer 0-1 defeat to Malaysia in AFF Cup 2022 opener

Myanmar national football team
faced a 0-1 loss against Malaysia team in the opening match of the AFF
Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 Group B played at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon
yesterday. Myanmar head coach Antione Hey used his reliable players: Hein Htet
Aung, Aung Kaung Mahn and Maung Maung Lwin while Malaysian team head coach Kim
Pan-gon responded the team Myanmar’s attack with a strong squad.
In the first half of the game,
the Myanmar team played well, but Malaysian defenders blocked the attacks of
Hein Htet Aung and Aung Kaung Mahn.
The Malaysian team also put
pressure on the Myanmar team with the penetrations of the number 7 striker
Mohamed Heisa. In the 40th minute of the game, Myanmar captain Maung Maung Lwin
was injured and had to be replaced by Ye Yint Aung.
In the second half, both teams
played against each other, and in the 51st minute of the game, striker Mohamed
Haisa scored the leading goal for the Malaysian team.
After that, the Myanmar team
added four new players, increased the attack speed, and played all the way to
score an equalizer, but the Malaysian team’s goalkeeper and the protectors were
able to defend the best.
In the 89th minute of the game, a
Malaysian team player was fouled for a handball in the penalty area. Win Naing
Tun took the penalty, but the Malaysian team’s goalkeeper was able to save it,
and the Myanmar team lost the opportunity to score an equalizer, and at the end
of the game, they lost by 0-1.
Myanmar will play against
