Fire broke in the home of U Dan Mang in new market
Ward in Hakha Township of Chin State at about 1:00 am on 10 January.
The fire was believed to have started from
overheated refrigerator in the house of U Dan Mang and spread to nearby two
houses.
Firemen from the District Fire Services Department
and the Tatmataw members rushed to the incident scene to put out the fire in
collaboration with auxiliary fire fighters and villagers using two fire engines
and a water tanker. The fire was completely extinguished at 2:19 am.
The fire destroyed three houses, causing a loss of
Ks. 2.88 million. But no casualties were reported in the fire. A total of 11
fire victims including seven men and four women are taking refuge in the homes of
their relatives, according to the District Fire Services Department.—District
