Paletwa-Zorampur road construction under Kaladan River Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project restarts

 

The Kaladan River Multi-Mod­al Transit Transport Project — the India-Myanmar friendship project in Paletwa Township, Chin State — and the road con­struction projects from Palet­wa Township, Chin State, to Zorampur, were suspended in 2020 due to various reasons.

However, the construction of the Paletwa-Zorampur road resumed on 25 Decem­ber 2022.

The Paletwa-Zorampur road will be 27 feet wide and 109 kilometres long from the Paletwa Township to the Indian border. The companies that have won the tender for the road con­struction project — the K & DL Company, Su Htoo San Company, Shwe Mann Company, Future Creator Group Construction Com­pany and Htet Shine Linn Company — will complete the construction of the road within five years. — Town­ship IPRD/CT
