Printing and Publishing Department celebrates its 51st anniversary in Nay Pyi Taw

 



The 51st-anniversary ceremony of the Printing and Publishing Department under the Ministry of Information took place at the Pho Wazira Hall of the News and Periodicals Enterprise in Khayaybin Junction, Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw yester­day.


The ceremony was attend­ed by Union Information Minis­ter U Maung Maung Ohn, Per­manent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, departmental heads, staff, officials and outstanding staff.


First of all, a video clip recording the work of the de­partment within 51 years was played.


Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, in his opening speech, said that the Printing and Publishing Department is the sole printing industry that publishes the publications of the governmental organizations as per the stipulations and on time.


The Sarpay Beikman un­der the Printing and Publishing Department is carrying out the work of giving information, ed­ucation and entertainment by publishing and selling various kinds of books, holding sym­posiums and literary talks and giving literary awards.


The Union minister ap­preciated that staff from the department are assisting the Ministry’s activities in a defend­er role.


Then, he provided uniforms worth K8.9 million for 862 em­ployees of the Printing and Pub­lishing Department, which was accepted by Director-General U Win Kyaw Aung of the de­partment.


Afterwards, he presented awards and certificates of hon­our to outstanding staff from the courses opened at the Civil Service Academy (Upper My­anmar).


Next, the Union minister, the permanent secretary and the director-general of PPD drew the raffle for the staff.


Finally, the Union minister and departmental heads en­joyed their lunch together with officials and staff from the Print­ing and Publishing Department. — MNA/CT
