Don’t be careless in the prevention of Covid-19 infection

NEW variants of the Covid-19 pandemic warn the global people to take care of their health condition and not to remove practices of following the health guidelines so as to prevent infection of the pandemic in the atmosphere.

 

In Myanmar, the Ministry of Health is continuously analyzing the infection rate of Covid-19 not only in global countries and neighbouring countries but in the motherland while carrying out necessary preventive measures and control of the pandemic as much as possible.

 

Indeed, preventive measures to be taken against the pandemic are not just a duty of the Ministry of Health. All the entire people are also responsible for following the health protocols to carry out prevention, control and treatment activities of the pandemic. Importantly, they have to wear masks whenever they go outside. If they go to public places or crowded areas unavoidably, they have to wash their hands with water and soap. They have to live in the family or society by following social distancing.

 

All the areas where the people live must have proper ventilation. If so, they will be free from infection by the pandemic to some extent. If possible, people need to receive booster doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. It is because infection of Covid-19 has been slightly increasing in Myanmar since early April 2023. They have to take necessary treatment by contacting nearby health centres as quickly as possible if suspect symptoms of the pandemic are found and to follow the health protocols released by the Ministry of Health not to spread the virus to others and quarantine themselves at home.

 

According to the press release of the World Health Organization on 20 April 2023, the infection rate of Covid-19 is rising in Myanmar’s neighbouring countries such as India, Thailand, Bangladesh and other regional countries as of January 2023, with infection of variant XBB. 1.16 (Arcturus). But it does not cause higher intensified infection, the situation of medical treatment at hospitals and death rates. But, suffering from the variant can be affected by current drugs. The drugs being used in Myanmar are effective in the prevention of the disease. Booster doses of vaccines can reduce infection of the disease, intensification and death rate.

 

Everybody needs to take care of self-health conditions by following the disciplines issued by the Ministry of Health. It means cooperation with the authorities in the prevention of surging the infection rate of the pandemic again. So, entire people should unite themselves in wiping off the evil pandemic.
