Basic education schools in Nay Pyi Taw opened

The basic education schools in
Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory opened yesterday and the students peacefully
attended the school.
The basic education schools
(primary, middle and high) in Nay Pyi Taw started their respective classes for
the 2023-2024 academic year starting yesterday morning.
To open the basic education
schools systematically, the officials of the Ministry of Education, teachers
and relevant officials made seating plans following COVID-19 health rules,
systematic timetables and arrangements for ferries for students. The school
enrollment fee is free and the textbooks from primary to high school levels are
also provided for free.
A total of 799 schools – 757 high,
middle and primary schools, 28 monastic schools and 14 private schools –
reopened in Nay Pyi Taw this academic year and a total of 217,042 students
attended the schools yesterday.
Similarly, the students are
attending the schools peacefully in accordance with the COVID-19 health rules
in respective regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw.
The Tatmadaw members, Myanmar
Police Force members, school boards of trustees members, teachers, parents and
traffic police conducted necessary measures for road safety during school
