Community Centre of IPRD commissioned into service in Pantanaw Township

Town elders have to maintain the
community centre building for long term existence without satisfaction in just
opening the building, said member of State Administration Council Mahn Nyein
Maung at the opening ceremony of the community centre built by the Department
of Information and Public Relations in Pantanaw of Ayeyawady Region yesterday
morning.
SAC member Mahn Nyein Maung,
Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Chief Minister of Ayeyawady
Region U Tin Maung Win and Commander of South-West Command Brig-Gen Kyi Khaing
unveiled the signboard of the centre.
They visited the small museum
showcasing eminent persons of Ayeyawady Region, famous pagodas, scenic
beauties, products of the region, and arts and crafts, the child reading room
and playground, arts room, library, computer room, gymnasium, meeting room and
multipurpose hall and presented story books to readers and children.
In his speech, the SAC member
stressed that town elders have to maintain the community centre building for
long term existence without satisfaction in just opening the building and need
to nurture children to have talented ones. The SAC member urged all to accept
that the community centre must be designated as a good venue for nurturing
children to be outstanding.
Union Minister for Information U
Maung Maung Ohn, in his address, said that the community centres are the most
appropriate venues for youths to meet each other.
Only when youth networks are
wider will the centres be places to turn out the youth leaders who will serve
the State in the future.
Libraries are the learning
centres for youths and the people to accumulate knowledge by cutting cost and
time.
The Union minister urged local
people to utilize the community centre contributed by the Ministry of
Information, Ayeyawady Region government and well-wishers in Pantanaw in
seeking information and knowledge.
Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung
Win explained development of human resources and academic measures in the
region.
Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn
presented a certificate of honour for donations of furniture and computer
accessories as well as 100 DVB-T2 set top boxes to the Chief Minister, 100 more
DVB-T2 set top boxes for Tatmadaw families of military stations under
South-West Command to Commander Brig-Gen Kyi Khaing and certificates of honour
to well-wishers.
Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win
donated K10 million for Kayin ethnic development and the university learning
foundation to an official.
The community centre was
commissioned into service as the fifth facility in the time of State
Administration Council. The centre was built with K582.60 million in 2022-23
