State Peace Talks Team meets with five PPST member NCA signatories

A meeting between the State Peace Talks Team (SPTT) and five Peace Process Steering Team-PPST members ALP, DKBA, KNU/KNLA-PC, LDU and PNLO which have signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement was held yesterday morning at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

Member of the State Administration Council Union Minister at the Union Government Office Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee-NSPNC Peace Talks Team Leader Lt-Gen Yar Pyae warmly welcomed the peace delegations.

 

After that, they coordinated the meeting agenda and topics to be discussed.

 

The meeting was also attended by Member of the SAC Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein and members, and Chair Saw Mra Raza Lin of Arakan Liberation Party-ALP, Saw Sein Win at the rank of Adjutant-General of Democratic Karen Benevolent Army-DKBA, Vice Chair Dr Naw Kapaw Htoo of KNU/KNLA-Peace Council, Vice Chairman Kya Phoo of Lahu Democratic Union-LDU and Patron Phyar Tan Khun Okkar of Pa-O National Liberation Organization-PNLO and members of the delegatons.

 

During the meeting, State Peace Talks Team Leader Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and Patron Phyar Tan Khun Okkar of PNLO extended greetings.

 

Then, both sides mutually discussed the points to be amended in the Constitution (2008), implementation of the points agreed upon in the previous discussions, the issues of holding a peace conference, regional stability and the annihilation of the narcotic drugs.

 

The first-day meeting was adjourned and the second day meeting will continue on 27 June.—MNA/TS
