Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of SAC Chairman Prime Minister, attends 2023 Myanmar Women’s Day ceremony

 



Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the State Administration Coun­cil Chairman Prime Minister and Honorary Patron of Myan­mar Women’s Affairs Federa­tion-MWAF, attended the 2023 Myanmar Women’s Day cere­mony at Myanmar International Convention Centre-II in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.


It was also attended by Hon­orary Patrons of MWAF Daw Khin Thet Htay and Daw Than Than Nwe, and invited guests.


First, State Administration Council Chairman Prime Min­ister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered an opening address by sending a video message to the ceremony. (Ex­cerpts of the message sent by the Senior General are reported on Page 1 and 4.)


Then, Union Minister for So­cial Welfare, Relief and Resettle­ment Dr Thet Thet Khine, Chair­person of the Myanmar National Committee for Women’s Affairs, explained the empowerment of women, being member of UN­CEDAW in 1997, the 2nd draft stage for report, arrangements to hold ASEAN Ministerial Meet­ing on Women in Myanmar in 2024, participation in meetings of ASEAN Committee on Wom­en, ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children and ASEAN Ministerial Meeting for Social Welfare and Develop­ment, drafting of National Stra­tegic Plan for the Advancement of Women (2023-2032), national projects for protection of sexual violence and response in con­flict, prevention of gender-based violence and activities conduct­ed in commemoration of Myan­mar Women’s Day.


Then, the video clip featur­ing activities of women empow­erment was played.


Then, Honorary Patron of MWAF Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and patrons and SAC Member Daw Dwe Bu presented awards to the outstanding women in the relat­ed sectors and an outstanding girl who secured the top mark in 2022-23 matriculation exam­ination.
