SAI Myanmar virtually hosts 7th ASEANSAI Senior Officials’ Meeting
The 7th ASEANSAI Senior Officials’ Meeting took place at the Office of the Auditor General of the Union in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
Seven delegates led by the Permanent Secretary of the Union Auditor-General Office virtually attended the meeting together with 42 delegates from ASEAN SAI Secretariat and member countries.
Auditor-General of the Union U Tin Oo, who is also in the capacity of ASEANSAI Chairman, delivered a speech, saying that during the tenure of the ASEANSAI Chairmanship, ASEANSAI has achieved success in several remarkable activities such as a Cooperative Research Project on SAI Independence in ASEAN Countries, Audit Review Meetings and Workshops, the 5th Executive Committee Meeting and Knowledge Sharing Committee Meeting. SAI Myanmar has been collaborating on the ASEANSAI’s functions as a family and had several remarkable achievements and successes together. In the future, he pledged to sustain the ASEANSAI as a more successful and effective organization through collaboration and cooperation among all member SAIs.
The meeting focused on the revised ASEANSAI Rules and Procedures, ASEANSAI Committee’s Work Plan 2024- 2025, Financial Statements issue and the draft Memorandum of Understanding between Swedish National Audit Office and ASEANSAI.
The meeting will continue on 5 July 2023 and the Appointment of Longer-term ASEANSAI Secretariat for the period of 2024-2029, draft agenda on 7th ASEANSAI Summit, appointment of ASEANSAI Committees for the period of 2024-2025 will be discussed in addition to the Pre-handover ASEANSAI Chairmanship Meeting.
The preparatory meeting and technical meeting were virtually held on 3 July in order to successfully hold the 7th ASEANSAI Senior Officials Meeting. — GNLM
