SAI Myanmar virtually hosts 7th ASEANSAI Senior Officials’ Meeting

 



The 7th ASEANSAI Senior Officials’ Meeting took place at the Office of the Auditor General of the Union in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.


Seven delegates led by the Permanent Secretary of the Union Auditor-General Office virtually attended the meet­ing together with 42 delegates from ASEAN SAI Secretariat and member countries.


Auditor-General of the Union U Tin Oo, who is also in the capacity of ASEANSAI Chairman, delivered a speech, saying that during the tenure of the ASEANSAI Chairman­ship, ASEANSAI has achieved success in several remarka­ble activities such as a Coop­erative Research Project on SAI Independence in ASEAN Countries, Audit Review Meet­ings and Workshops, the 5th Executive Committee Meet­ing and Knowledge Sharing Committee Meeting. SAI My­anmar has been collaborating on the ASEANSAI’s functions as a family and had several remarkable achievements and successes together. In the fu­ture, he pledged to sustain the ASEANSAI as a more success­ful and effective organization through collaboration and co­operation among all member SAIs.


The meeting focused on the revised ASEANSAI Rules and Procedures, ASEANSAI Committee’s Work Plan 2024- 2025, Financial Statements issue and the draft Memo­randum of Understanding be­tween Swedish National Audit Office and ASEANSAI.


The meeting will con­tinue on 5 July 2023 and the Appointment of Longer-term ASEANSAI Secretariat for the period of 2024-2029, draft agen­da on 7th ASEANSAI Summit, appointment of ASEANSAI Committees for the period of 2024-2025 will be discussed in addition to the Pre-handover ASEANSAI Chairmanship Meeting.


The preparatory meeting and technical meeting were virtually held on 3 July in or­der to successfully hold the 7th ASEANSAI Senior Officials Meeting. — GNLM
