Myanmar participates in ASEAN-China Week 2024
The Myanmar delegation led by
Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khine attended the
ASEAN-China Week 2024 themed “ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership:
Achieving Prosperity through Innovation”, held at Chengzhi Banhu Cultural and
Tourism Services Centre, in China, on 11 and 12 August.
On 11 August, the Union minister
met Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre and discussed the
tourism promotion industry for Myanmar.
Then, she attended the meeting
with ASEAN members and the Shanxi Province government leader and observed the
ASEAN-China culture and tourism promotion booths.
On 12 August, she attended the
opening ceremony of ASEAN-China Week 2024 and made remarks saying the strength
of regional cooperation can benefit the development, stability and prosperity
of member countries. Moreover, the promotion of culture and communication
exchange between ASEAN and China can promote regional cooperation,
people-to-people ties and mutual understanding, in addition to regional tourism
industry development.
She also participated in the
official launch of the ASEAN-China Import and Export Service Platform, trade
promotion video screening programmes, an awarding event at the ASEAN-China Centre,
and a documentary photo session.
At noon, she attended the
workshop on culture, tourism, and youth development between ASEAN and China.
Officials of the embassies of ASEAN countries discussed exemption, relief, and
land and infrastructure benefits regarding investment in Myanmar.
She also met the representative
of BiliBili, a website media platform in China, handed over tourism promotion
video clips of Myanmar and discussed further cooperation in the Myanmar’s
tourism industry.
The Myanmar delegates joined the
entertainment show of ASEAN-China Week on the same evening. — MNA/KTZH
