16,000 acres of pulses, beans planted in Kyunhla Township
Kyunhla, 18 September
A total
of 16,000 acres
of pulses and
beans have been
planted in Kyunhla Township of Sagaing Region in 2024-2025 monsoon season,
according to the Township
Agriculture Department.
“The Township authorities
have earmarked to grow 16,953 acres of pulses and beans in this year’s monsoon
season, but local farmers have so far
planted 16,956 acres of pulses and
beans against the
target cultivation”, said Daw
Myint Myint Yee, staff officer of the Township Agriculture Department. “Farmers are trying
hard to expand sown acreage of pulses and beans in the Township year by year”
she added.
In order to
successfully develop rain-fed crop plantations and achieve the targeted output,
the Township Department of Agriculture is making field trips and sharing
knowledge on agricultural techniques such as good quality seeds, systematic
ways of planting and prevention of pest infestation to farmers in the Township.—Myo
