Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe
yesterday evening enjoyed competition in the Maha Zanaka drama contest of the
25th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition at the open-air
theatre of the Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee.
The Vice-Senior General, his wife and the party watched
performances of the Shwe Yangontine theatrical troupe representing Yangon
Region in the contest.
After the competition, the Vice-Senior General and his wife
warmly greeted the maestros who served as members of the panel of judges and
contestants.
Also present at the contest were Union ministers and their
wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, deputy ministers, service personnel,
families and people.
The Maha Ayeya theatrical troupe participated in the Maha
Zanaka drama contest on 14 October, the Phankhamyay troupe from Magway Region
on 15 October, the Min Naing Soe troupe from Mon State on 16 October, the
Manmyo Gonyi troupe from Mandalay Region on 17 October and the Shwe Yangontine
troupe representing Yangon Region yesterday. Moreover, contesting troupes from
Bago and Sagaing regions will compete on 19 and 20 October. — MNA/TTA
