Yangon claims U-20 League victory; Yadanabon, Ayeya earn full points
THE 2024 Myanmar National League U-20 Youth League
continued with its Fixture-19 matches on 14 October. Yangon United claimed a
dominant victory, while both Yadanabon and Ayeyawady United secured all three
points in their respective matches.
At the Salin Stadium, Ayeyawady United beat
Hanthawady United 2-1. Despite a strong effort from bottom-placed Hanthawady,
who took the lead early, they couldn’t hold on and faced yet another defeat.
Hanthawady’s opening goal came in 20 minutes through Zaw Lin Aung, but
Ayeyawady responded with goals from Naing Lar in 27 minutes and Aung Chit in 77
minutes to seal the win.
At the Padonma Stadium, Yangon United cruised to a
4-0 victory against Myawady FC. With this win, Yangon United moved closer to
securing a spot in the top three. The star of the match was striker Sai Zeyar
Kyaw, who netted all four goals for Yangon United, scoring in 30, 57, 69, and
72 minutes.
At the South Dagon Ground, Yadanabon FC came from
behind to defeat Rakhine United 2-1. Rakhine United took the lead in the 20th
minute with a goal from Thaw Zin Naing, but Yadanabon’s Khun Myint Swe
equalized in 34 minutes and then scored the winner in 75 minutes.
Following these matches, Yangon United now sits with
30 points from 17 games, Yadanabon has 23 points from 18 games, Ayeyawady
United also has 23 points from 17 games, while Rakhine United remains at 20
points from 18 matches. Myawady has 14 points from 18 games, and Hanthawady United
remain at the bottom with just 7 points from 17 games.
The second day of Fixture 19 continues today, with
ISPE FC taking on Dagon Star United at the South Dagon Ground, Mahar United
facing Dagon Port FC at the Padonma Stadium, and Shan United meeting Thitsa
