Myanmar high-level delegation led by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing embarks on official visit to China



 

THE Myanmar high-level delega­tion, led by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minis­ter Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, departed yesterday morning from Nay Pyi Taw Military Airport aboard a special flight provided by Myanmar National Air­lines (MAI) to attend the Eighth Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit, the 10th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (AC­MECS) Summit, and the 11th Cambo­dia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Summit, at the invitation of the govern­ment of the People’s Republic of China.

 

The Myanmar high-level delega­tion, led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Min­ister, was seen off at the airport by SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, the coun­cil’s secretary and members, Union Min­isters, the chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, and the deputy chief of mission and officials from the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar.

 

Along with the Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister, the council’s Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Council Member General Nyo Saw, Union Ministers, the chief ministers of Taninthayi, Yangon, and Ayeyawady regions, high-ranking Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), deputy ministers, and military and civilian offi­cials, joined the delegation on the trip.

 

During the trip, they will attend high-level meetings, hold discussions with officials from the government of the People’s Republic of China, and visit prominent locations, universi­ties, factories, and workshops while Union Ministers, deputy ministers, and other responsible officials ac­companying the delegation will en­gage in sector-specific meetings.

 

These activities aim to strengthen the bond of friendship between the gov­ernments and peoples of both countries and enhance cooperation across various fields, including the economy and other sectors.

 

The Myanmar delegation, led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister, arrived at the Kunming International Airport in China in the morning. Upon their arrival, they were warmly welcomed by Myanmar Ambassador to China U Tin Maung Swe, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms Ma Jia, Myanmar’s military attaché (Army, Navy, and Air) Brig-Gen Zaw Zaw Naing, Mr Yang Ya­lin, a member of the standing commit­tee of the Chinese Communist Party, and other officials. Traditional cultural troupes from China warmly welcomed the delegation with flower garlands, waving the flags of both countries and performing traditional cultural music and dances. — MNA/TH
