Deputy Information Minister urges collaboration & library growth



DEPUTY Minister of Informa­tion U Ye Tint visited the office of the Thaton District Informa­tion and Public Relations De­partment along with U Saw Kyi Naing, Minister of Social Affairs for Mon State and, the Director of the District’s Information and Public Relations Department on 21 February. They observed the ongoing work and activities at the department.

 

U Ye Tint then met district heads and staff from Bilin and Kyaikhto townships and dis­cussed their respective duties and operations.

 

In the afternoon, he visited the youth library in Thaton Dis­trict, which had been construct­ed under the Library Develop­ment Programme. During his visit, he encouraged the library committee members, residents and parents to collaborate in providing children with educa­tion and knowledge, aiming to help them become capable and well-rounded individuals. He also donated books and magazines to the library.

 

The deputy minister also visited the Paung Township In­formation and Public Relations Department, where he met staff members and discussed their work.

 

In the afternoon, he visit­ed the Information and Public Relations office in Chaungzon Township, reviewing the opera­tions and activities there. After­wards, he visited the Takawsan Village Library, where he met library officials and locals to dis­cuss strategies for ensuring the library’s success, maximizing its benefits and engaging youth in social work.

 

During his meeting, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint emphasized the importance of prioritizing the interests of the country and the people, actively participating in regional development projects and promoting literacy and edu­cational activities among youths. He also discussed the expansion and sustainability of libraries in line with national goals.

 

The deputy minister also focused on the importance of preparing for and ensuring the successful conduct of a free and fair multiparty democratic election as per national stabil­ity and the ongoing processes. He emphasized the need for staff participation in this effort as a token of appreciation. The deputy minister presented staff members with foodstuffs and commendations. — MNA/KZL
