Efficiently utilize natural resources to improve the socioeconomic life of the people
THE
electricity
and energy sectors are crucial for the development of agriculture, livestock,
and industrial sectors. In the energy sector, fuel energy is imported annually
from abroad, and efforts are being made to enhance domestic fuel energy
production using local resources. In the electricity sector, due to various
issues in halting power generation plants and disruptions caused by conflicts,
there are ongoing power shortages. Efforts are being made to provide
electricity to the public on a rotating basis as much as possible.
However, due to the ongoing repairs and
construction in the electrical sector and the implementation of renewable
energy systems, there are promising prospects. Solar energy, a renewable energy
system utilizing sunlight, is now being used not only in the public sector but
also in both large and small business sectors. Currently, six companies in the
Thilawa industrial zone can generate and use over 4.9 megawatts of electricity
through solar systems. This progress allows businesses to operate efficiently
on a large scale. Taking this success as an example, other companies are also
planning to generate and use over 8 megawatts of electricity.
The use of solar power systems allows
businesses to fully utilize the electrical energy they need, and it has been
observed that surplus energy can be sold back to the national grid. While the
initial investment costs for a solar system can be high depending on the
production capacity, the ongoing costs are minimal, and it will reach a
breakeven situation in just a few years.
The government is implementing projects
to produce over 1,000 megawatts of hybrid electricity, combining natural gas
and solar power engines, in various states and regions. The electricity
generated will be distributed across the country, ensuring it reaches areas
based on proportional needs. If businesses can operate using their own solar
systems, it will improve operational efficiency and meet their electricity
demands.
As such, while the country is making
efforts to increase the production of electricity to improve the livelihood of
the people and enhance industrial output, if the government, private sector,
and the public can collaborate in harmony to establish a sustainable solar
energy system, it will not only improve the socioeconomic life of the people,
but also lead to progress in food security, agriculture, livestock, and the
industrial sectors, ultimately resulting in national development and progress.
