Haka marks 77th Chin National Day

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Admiral
Tin Aung San, accompanied by SAC Member Union Minister for Border Affairs
Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, SAC Members Dr Hmuh Thang and Dr Ba Shwe, Union ministers and
deputy ministers, yesterday attended the 77th Anniversary of Chin National
Day ceremony in Haka Township, Chin State.
The Deputy Prime Minister, SAC Members
and Chin State Chief Minister Dr Vungh Suan Thang first cut the ceremonial
ribbon to inaugurate the event, and posed for the documentary group photo.
The patron members then took the
position and saluted the State flag.
Patron leader U Kau Lyan Thang made a
greeting speech, and Admiral Tin Aung San read out the message sent by State
Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha
Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing to the occasion.
The Chin State chief minister remarked.
Afterwards, the Admiral and party
presented prizes to those who won good civil servant awards, and awards for excellence
in management (first) and (second class).
They also presented K50 million for
rations to temporarily displaced government employees in Chin State, 50 DTH
receivers and 100 DTB T-2 set boxes for the Chin State government, K54,369,000
worth of foodstuffs, K45,000,000 worth of a Green House (100 feet by 30 feet by
18 feet) and sports gears for the internally displaced people.
At noon, they met state, district and
township-level departmental staff at the meeting hall of the Chin State
government, and discussed matters related to administrative mechanisms,
economic and social affairs of the state.
They observed the booths displayed at
the Chin National Day event and watched the Chin traditional dance performance.
They all enjoyed a bonfire to mark the Chin National Day together with Chin
