IPRD celebrates 34th Anniversary

The 34th Anniversary of the Information and Public Relations
Department (IPRD) was held at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw
yesterday.
Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Deputy
Minister U Ye Tint, Permanent Secretary U Win Kyaw Aung, heads of department,
heads of region, state and district head offices, and outstanding employees who
won awards attended the ceremony.
The documentary video “Moving Forward Courageously” was
introduced to the audience at the event.
In his speech, the Union minister said the IPRD stands stall
as a focal department of the ministry due to the unity among the leading
personnel and the staff serving their responsibilities dutifully. This year
marks the 34th anniversary of the department.
The year 2024 can be supposed as the best year for IPRD as it
performed its best performance holding the 2023 Myanmar Film Academy Awards
ceremony, campaigns to develop libraries and raise reading habits nationwide,
and opening and closing events of the Fifth National Sports Festival at the
State level and proper cooperation with ministries concerned for other events.
Moreover, the department organizes talk shows and youth
dialogues to possess good characteristics and patriotism aiming at motiving the
youths, developing the five essential skills and mentoring them to become reliable
leaders of the country in the future per the guidance of the Head of the State.
He also appreciated the department for launching
capacity-building training sessions for the staff as they play a key role in
serving public relations operations between the government and the people.
Afterwards, the Union minister, the deputy minister, the
permanent secretary and departmental officials presented excellent performance
awards to outstanding personnel in the region, township-level management and
reading habit-raising campaigns.
Mandalay Region department head director Daw Wai Phyo then
expressed gratitude on behalf of the prize recipients.
The Union minister and party observed the record photos
