MoHT launches one-week culinary course in Chinese cuisine
UNION Minister for Hotels and Tourism U
Kyaw Soe Win addressed the opening ceremony of the Chinese food culinary course
at Shwe San Eain Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The course was jointly launched by the
Myanmar-China Friendship Association (Mandalay) and Fujian Foreign Language
School with the assistance of the Yunnan Economics Trade and Foreign Affairs
College marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of
diplomatic relations between Myanmar and China.
The event was attended by Nay Pyi Taw
Council Member U Zeyar Lin, Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee member 3 U Khun
Nay Tun Oo, the permanent secretary, directors-general, deputy
directors-general and relevant officials from the Ministry of Defence and
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Principal and teachers of Fujian Foreign Language
School, the vice-principal and professor, faculty members, trainers from
Yunnan Economics Trade and Foreign Affairs College, relevant officials of Nay Pyi
Taw hotel and tourism associations and trainees.
In his speech, the Union minister
highlighted the intention of the course to offer better services to Chinese
travellers and bring benefits to those who want to run hotels, restaurants and
Chinese food in Myanmar.
Establishing Chinese restaurants in
certain townships can attract Chinese visitors.
The ministry opens such training courses
nationwide to emerge skilful human resources in preparing the food and service
industry.
He urged the participants to work
together to improve the services in the hotel and tourism sectors.
The vice-principal of the Yunnan
Economics Trade and Foreign Affairs College and the principal of Fujian Foreign
Language School briefed the training course and had documentary photos taken
together with all attendees.
The Union minister observed the lecture
and practical sessions. The course will be conducted for one week. — MNA/KTZH
