Myanmar women triumph at Nepal Invitational Tournament
MYANMAR national women’s football team
yesterday claimed the championship trophy at the Nepal Four Nations Women’s
Football Invitational Tournament, hosted in Nepal.
Myanmar defeated the host Nepal with a
dominant 2-0 victory in the final match. Both goals were scored in the second
half with Yupa Khine finding the back of the net in 62 minutes and Win Theingi
Tun adding another goal just three minutes later in 65 minutes, securing the
win for Myanmar.
Throughout the tournament, team Myanmar
displayed excellent skill and teamwork. In the group stages, they faced Lebanon
and Kyrgyzstan, winning both games comfortably. Myanmar defeated Lebanon 3-1
and beat Kazakhstan with a 5-0 scoreline, showcasing their offensive strength
and defensive solidity. The only draw in the group stage came against Nepal,
with the match ending 2-2. However, Myanmar’s strong performance in the final
secured them the title.
This championship win is an important
milestone for Myanmar’s women’s football team, who previously won the Hero
Gold Cup in India in 2019. The victory also provides a morale boost as the team
prepares for future international competitions, including the XXXIII SEA
Games, where they aim to continue their strong run.
The Myanmar women’s football team,
composed of youths and veteran players continues to be a formidable force in
international women’s football. Their performance at the Nepal tournament is a
