SAC Member participates in Buddha event and Hainggyikyun development

THE opening ceremony of the Maha Makhuhtaranthi Pago­da’s Buddha Pujaniya ceremo­ny in Zeechai Village, Haing­gyikyun Township, saw State Administration Council (SAC) Member Mahn Nyein Maung. The event took place yester­day morning at the Pagoda’s southern courtyard.

 

After cutting the ceremo­nial ribbon, the SAC member officially opened the event. He then pressed the button at the Pagoda’s southern entrance to launch the ceremony, where incense offerings were made, and various organizations were honoured with cash donations. The attendees also performed acts of worship, presenting of­ferings such as fruits, flowers, and water.

 

The SAC member and offi­cials also visited a basic educa­tion high school in Haigyikyun Township. He observed and supported the ongoing educa­tional activities at the school, where indigenous rural peo­ple are being taught literacy. He engaged in discussions with the students about their learning experiences, offering encouragement and sharing insights. He presented food to the students and staff in rec­ognition of their efforts.

 

The SAC member then in­spected the improvement work on the waterway entering Hai­gyikyun. An official provided information that the region­al government had allocated funds for the construction of a breakwater along Haing­gyi Creek to prevent erosion for the 2024-2025 financial year. The construction of the 550-foot-long breakwater is progressing as planned. The official clarified that the work is being carried out according to the established standards and must be completed on time.

 

The completion of the breakwater will prevent ero­sion along Hainggyi Creek, im­proving the water flow within the creek and ensuring that vessels can enter and exit safe­ly without any risk. — MNA/ KZL
