SAC Member participates in Buddha event and Hainggyikyun development
THE opening ceremony of the Maha
Makhuhtaranthi Pagoda’s Buddha Pujaniya ceremony in Zeechai Village, Hainggyikyun
Township, saw State Administration Council (SAC) Member Mahn Nyein Maung. The
event took place yesterday morning at the Pagoda’s southern courtyard.
After cutting the ceremonial ribbon,
the SAC member officially opened the event. He then pressed the button at the
Pagoda’s southern entrance to launch the ceremony, where incense offerings were
made, and various organizations were honoured with cash donations. The
attendees also performed acts of worship, presenting offerings such as fruits,
flowers, and water.
The SAC member and officials also
visited a basic education high school in Haigyikyun Township. He observed and
supported the ongoing educational activities at the school, where indigenous
rural people are being taught literacy. He engaged in discussions with the
students about their learning experiences, offering encouragement and sharing
insights. He presented food to the students and staff in recognition of their
efforts.
The SAC member then inspected the
improvement work on the waterway entering Haigyikyun. An official provided
information that the regional government had allocated funds for the
construction of a breakwater along Hainggyi Creek to prevent erosion for the
2024-2025 financial year. The construction of the 550-foot-long breakwater is
progressing as planned. The official clarified that the work is being carried
out according to the established standards and must be completed on time.
The completion of the breakwater will
prevent erosion along Hainggyi Creek, improving the water flow within the
creek and ensuring that vessels can enter and exit safely without any risk. —
