Single-clove garlic trade continues to soar
THE medicinal single-clove garlic trade
has been still on the rise when the supply is going to be short.
“Now, no more supply of single-clove
garlic is left at other wholesale trading centres, I have just some remaining
stock. Its reason already ended and all old supply had already run out. Among
garlic, the single-clove garlic price is the highest. Its trade is pretty good,
even becomes surged when the supply becomes limited. It has nationwide orders
and Yangon is the main destination,” said a garlic trader from Taunggyi
Township.
The old supply of garlic has begun short
and new garlics are going to be harvested in March. Among different varieties
of garlic, the single-clove garlic is used in making medicine and being a
most-consumed culinary crop, its trade is good.
“New garlic, both single-clove and other
garlic, will be dug around the end of March, just before Thingyan,” she added.
Despite the rising price in January, the
single-clove garlic trade has been still on the rise. Among orders for
big-sized garlic, the majority are placed from Yangon. In September 2024,
orders for the medicinal garlic mounted from Pyay. The single-clove garlic is
