Thingyan set to boost PyinOoLwin tourism
From the aspect of the transport and the
fine weather, the visitor arrival to PyinOoLwin Township in Mandalay Region is
expected to rise during the Thingyan holidays, according to the township residents.
The weather in PyinOoLwin is as fine as
that in Taunggyi, Inlay and Kalaw plus better transportation, hoping the
visitors’ arrival to increase during the summer holiday and Thingyan, said
residents.
“On the grounds of the fine weather and
the convenient transportation, we hope the visitor arrival in Thingyan will
increase. PyinOoLwin is highland and the weather is cold like Taunggyi, Inlay
and Kalaw, so I think the visitor arrival will be large during this summer
holiday and Thingyan,” said a resident.
Last year’s flower festival was thronged
with people and visitors arriving at Pwe Kauk waterfall which added to new
tourist attraction areas was also large, even several thousands of people
visited daily during the festival.
“PyinOoLwin was quite vibrant in last
year’s flower festival and December holidays. Now, cherry trees are in blossom
and ‘red silk cotton’ (Albizia lebbeck) flowers will blossom in summer. The
town is also beautiful with seasonal flowers,” he added. — Thit Taw/ZS
