Yoma low-cost housing attracts 28,000+ applicants
THE Department of Urban and Housing
Development under the Ministry of Construction received over 28,000 applicants
to purchase Yoma low-cost housing apartment units and those who are eligible
to buy them will be selected under the drawing lot system.
Under the supervision of the Yangon
Region government, 874 apartment units of Yoma low-cost housing were put up for
sale for low-income people facing difficulty in owning a house, retirees and
low-ranking civil servants, announced in state-run newspapers.
Over 30,000 application forms were sold
between 13 and 21 February 2025 and over 28,000 of them were submitted before
the deadline. A committee on selling houses screened applications and
qualified applicants will be selected under the drawing lot system. The
