MoI Union Minister attends variety show for Mandalay quake relief
UNION Minister for Information U Maung
Maung Ohn, accompanied by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and relevant
regional ministers, watched the fundraising variety show for the victims of the
Mandalay earthquake at the National Theatre in Yangon yesterday.
A video clip featuring rescue works and
rehabilitation processes in quake-hit areas was played, and all the attendees
observed a minute of silence for the deceased.
The Myanmar Motion Pictures
Organization presented the original film theme songs of famous artistes, and
the event included “Achit Sone Apaung Saing” play of director Than Htike (Shwe
Yeik) from Aung Khit Min Film Production with the cast members: Kyaw Htet Aung,
Kyaw Htet Zaw, Min Taw Win, Khin Zarchi Kyaw, Aye Wutt Yi Thaung, Ma Ma Hsaung
and other artistes. Moreover, “Pyi Thu Achaw Taw” dramatic play was presented
by HEY Play Application, and directed by director Tin Maung San Min Win, and
the cast were Sai Si Twam Kham, Nay Htut, Naw Phaw El Htar, May Pachi, May La
Than Zin and other artistes. Bo Bo Film Production and Triple Six Film
Production jointly presented the “Ngar Doh Arlone Lu… Atu Tu” play, which was
directed by directors Soe Moe Min and Thet Oo Maung, and the cast included
Kaung Myat San, Shin Mway La, Chuu Lay, Chue Sitt Han and other artistes.
Director Nyo Min Lwin presented “Phoke Thwin Yahtar” with Yan Aung, Thar Nyi,
Marn Hein, Si Thu Maung, Mya Yar and other artistes while Director Maung Myo
Min (Yindwin Phyit) presented “Manat Phyan Myar Hla Par Say” opera with Nay
Toe, Kyaw Kyaw Bo, Tun Tun, Ye Lay and other artistes.
The people donated cash during the
event.
At noon, the Union minister inspected
the Sarso Beikman construction site in Mingala Taungnyunt Township of Yangon,
and heard the report made by Myanmar Land & Development Ltd Project
Director Daw Yu Yu Naing. He then emphasized the need to be the structure that
can withstand the earthquake, as it is the only Sarso Beikman constructed by
international aid, and to ensure the characteristics of Sarso Beikman for the
visitors.
He attended the opening ceremony of
“Fundraising Fair and Entertainment Show for the Rehabilitation of
Earthquake-Affected Areas” organized by Korea at the Public Area Zone of The
Central Boulevard in the same morning.
It was also attended by Yangon Region
Economic Affairs Minister, Social Affairs Ministers, officials of Korea-Seak
Dong Performing Arts Centre, Seoul, KK Media and CST Myanmar Company, K Tourism
Council and Jone No travel company, K Pop artistes and invitees.
The Union minister first cut the ribbon
to inaugurate the event together with the relevant officials.
Korean artiste Ms Han Chae Wan then
played the Korean musical instrument, and Solo Artiste Henny performed K-pop
dance.
Afterwards, the Union minister made an
opening speech.
The video message sent by Seoul MP Mr
Kim Yong Ho was played. K Tourism Chairman Mr Song Chang Yong then made a
greeting speech, and KK Media (Myanmar) Director Mr Cho Sung Woo briefed the
event, and the Korean artistes performed.
Then, the Union minister and his wife,
and K Tourism Council Chairman Mr Song Chang Yong presented gifts to the
artistes.
After the event, the Union minister and
party observed the preparations for the event.
The Fundraising Fair and Entertainment
Show for the Rehabilitation of Earthquake-Affected Areas was organized by
Korea-Seak Dong Performing Arts Centre, Seoul, KK Media and CST Myanmar Company
on 10-11 May with two sections: from 9 am to noon and from 4 pm to 9 pm. The
Korean traditional food will be sold at fairer prices, and the people can
participate in Korean traditional games. Moreover, the visitors can watch the
performance of K-Pop groups, “The Park of Stars” animation and “Beauty of
200lb” films for free of charge. The income from the event will be donated to
