Yangon to host charity football match for earthquake relief

A charity football match and concert to support the victims of the recent earthquake in My­anmar will take place at Joe­phyu football pitch in Taikkyi District of Yangon Region, as confirmed by renowned actor Academy Thu Htoo San.

 

The charity event, featur­ing a football match and musi­cal performances, is scheduled for from 12 pm to 6 pm 10 May 2025. The event will feature teams from the Film and Mu­sic Artistes Association and the Taikkyi District Unity Team. The match will begin at 4 pm, and film and music artistes will provide entertainment with live performances before the match kicks off at noon.

 

More musical perfor­mances will take place dur­ing the halftime break of the football match. The Film and Music Artistes Association will include stars: Academy Thu Htoo San, Moe Yan Zun, Director Win Tun Tun, Acad­emy Tun Tun, Nay Dway, Min Khant Kyaw, Phone Lyan, Pho Nyan, Tha Htet, Nay Ye Lin, Ei Si Kway, Heavy Pyo and Man Hain. Musical performances will feature renowned artistes such as Kyaw Zaw Hein, Sit Naing, Han Tha Soe Min, Aung Khant Paing, Lin Aung, Moe Htet, Ye Le Ma, Pwint Nandi Maung, May Pachi, Nan Htike Shwe Sin, Saung Eaindray Tun, Amy Zan, Eaint Pachi and Htet Kaung Kin.

 

A similar charity football match was held at the Hantha­wady Football Ground in Bago Region on 7 April to support earthquake victims. The event was organized by the Artistes Association and the Bago Old Star Football Club. — ASH/ KZL
