Over 50,000 foreign tourists arrive in Indonesia's Bali via cruise ships in H1 2025

As many as 38 cruise ships carrying more than 50,000 foreign tourists docked at Benoa Harbor on Indonesia's resort island Bali in the first half of this year, a senior official said on Wednesday.

During 2024, the port was visited by 59 cruise ships, which were estimated to have carried 103,000 foreign tourists.

"These figures reflect a positive trend in the revival of the marine tourism sector," said Fariz Hariyoso, head of the Bali and Nusa Tenggara Sub-Regional office of the state-owned firm PT Pelabuhan Indonesia, in Denpasar, Bali.

The large number of international cruise ship operators choosing Benoa Port as one of their docking destinations opens up business opportunities for small and medium enterprises in Bali's culinary, craft, and tourism service sectors, according to the official.
