All China Women’s Federation donates supplies for Mandalay quake survivors

THE handover ceremony of relief items donated by All China Women’s Federation (ACWF) to Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation for Mandalay earthquake survivors was held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win, who is also Chair of Myanmar Women’s Committee, briefed on the search and rescue works conducted with the assistance of the government and international countries in Mandalay, Sagaing, Nay Pyi Taw Council and Shan State.

He expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for their assistance in accommodation, search and rescue works, and healthcare services.

He also thanked All China Women’s Federation (ACWF) for donating K180,000,000 worth of commodities, China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) for its support and Myanmar-Chinese Cooperation and Communication Centre for donating in person.

Mr Wang Lei of China Foundation for Peace and Development and other officials clarified the donation, and Chairperson of Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation Dr Thet Thet Zin expressed gratitude. — MNA/KTZH
