China celebrates PLA’s 98th founding anniversary in Yangon



GENERAL Kyaw Swa Lin, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, and Air) and his wife, attended the ceremony marking the 98th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Liberation Army of China held at the Novotel Max Hotel in Yangon yesterday evening.

 

Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms Ma Jia, Chinese Military Attaché to Myanmar Senior Colonel Qu Zhe and his wife, and officials welcomed Gen­eral Kyaw Swa Lin and his party, and they observed record photos together.

 

The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of the Repub­lic of the Union of Myanmar and the People’s Republic of China. Chinese Military Attaché to Myanmar Senior Colonel Qu Zhe delivered a greeting speech. Following this, General Kyaw Swa Lin and his wife, the Chinese am­bassador, and the Chinese military at­taché and his wife cut the celebratory cake together.

 

The Chinese ambassador and the Chinese military attaché then hosted a dinner in honour of the attendees and guests.

 

Among those present were senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and his wife, the Yangon Command commander, regional min­isters, ambassadors, chargés d’affair­es from various embassies in Yangon, military attachés, and other invitees. — MNA/KTZH
