Myanmar joins 80th Anniversary of Viet Nam Public Security Day



THE Myanmar delegation, led by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, visited Viet Nam from 15 to 18 August at the invitation of Vietnamese Pub­lic Security Minister Gen Luong Tam Quang to attend the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Viet Nam People’s Public Security, which was held in Hanoi on 17 August.

 

On 16 August, the Union minister-led delegation visited the Ho Chi Minh Museum, and met Mr To Lam, general secre­tary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV), and Vietnam­ese Public Security Minister Gen Luong Tam Quang to discuss matters related to security and rule of law measures between the two countries in the same evening. They joined the dinner event hosted by the Vietnamese Public Security Minister.

 

On 17 August, the Union minister and party attended the 80th Anniversary of the Tra­ditional Day of the Viet Nam People’s Public Security at the Viet Nam National Convention Centre, and visited the Viet Nam Military History Museum.

 

On 18 August, the Union minister and party toured the People’s Police Academy. The Myanmar delegation’s trip to Viet Nam enormously benefits the country in terms of bilater­al cooperation. The delegation arrived back in Yangon by flight in the evening. — MNA/KTZH
