MNL U21 League: Falcon, Dagon Port secure wins on second day of Marches 20

THE Myanmar National League (MNL) U21 League continued with the second day of matches 20 on 15 September, with Falcon and Dagon Port winning and a draw match of Shan United and ISPE.

At the Yangon United Sports Complex, Shan United drew 1-1 with Institute of Sports and Physical Education FC.

The result of this match proved costly for both teams. Defending champion Shan United have now fallen five points behind league leaders Dagon Star, having played a match more, while second-placed ISPE will also have to fight hard for the championship title. The defending champion missed the chance to overtake ISPE as an equalizer from Saw Aung Myo Oo at 79 minutes, and denied them victory after scoring a goal for Shan United by Khun Myint Swe at 35 minutes.

At Thanlyin Thihadipa Ground, Falcon FC (aka) Myanmar National U19 edged past Yangon United FC with a narrow 1-0 win thanks to a 68th-minute goal from Sai Myat Min.

At the Bahan artificial turf football ground, Dagon Port team claimed a 2-1 win over Rakhine United. Goals came from Thein Than Soe from Dagon Port at 19 and 47 minutes, while Naing Lin Htut pulled one back for Rakhine United in 41 minutes.

The third day of matches 20 will take place today at Thanlyin Thihadipa Ground, between Hanthawady United and Ayeyawady United. At the Bahan Artificial Turf ground, Maha United will face Yadanabon FC. And the Junior Lion team and Dagon Star United will compete at YUSC. — Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
