Myanmar joins 22nd ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference in Indonesia
A Myanmar delegation led by
Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung departed Yangon International
Airport on 6 September to attend the XXII ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference (XXII
AACC) in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Upon arrival on 7 September, the
delegation met individually with Lao Air Force Chief Major General Khamlek
Sengphachanh, Brunei Air Force Chief Brig-Gen (U) Haji Haszahaidi bin Haji
Ahmad Daud, and Indonesian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Mohamad Tonny
Harjono to discuss bilateral air force matters.
On 8 September, the delegation attended
the XXII AACC at the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom in Jakarta. ASEAN air chiefs discussed
“ASEAN Inclusivity and Sustainability of Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations”
and endorsed joint agreements with signatures.
In the evening, the delegation joined
ASEAN air chiefs at a state dinner hosted by the Indonesian Air Force Chief.
The Myanmar delegation returned to
Yangon on 10 September, welcomed by Yangon Command Commander Maj- Gen Pyae
Sone Lin and senior Tatmadaw officers at Yangon International Airport. —
