Public-private talks set fair paddy prices for harvest

A Public-Private Dialogue on en­suring fair paddy price for farm­ers during harvest and boosting exports was held on 10 Septem­ber 2025 at Meeting Hall 1 of the Ayeyawady Region Government Office, with the presence of of­ficials of the departments con­cerned and the Myanmar Rice Federation president, rice millers and rice companies.

 

The Ayeyawady Region chief minister coordinated matters in ensuring fair paddy price for farmers during harvest, bolster­ing exports, accelerating efforts to provide cultivation inputs such as fertilizer and agricultural loans, installation of Solar 14 Mega Watt at eight rice mills, construction of ten rice mills using milling equip­ment with advanced technology in the 2025-2026 financial year, and implementation of rice export zones in the region.

 

The dialogue highlighted rice mills and companies pur­chasing monsoon paddy without interruption and delay, increasing purchase volume during harvest to help farmers, collaboration be­tween the regional government and MRF to export the premium Pawsan rice and prioritizing Ae­mahta rice varieties in purchas­ing. — NN/KK
