Students drawn to anti-trafficking efforts
THE talk show and painting contest took
place at the community centre of the Information and Public Relations
Department in Thaegon Township of Bago Region yesterday morning.
It aims to enable student youths to
comprehensively understand the danger of human trafficking.
Staff Officer Daw Wint Nanda Htay of the
Township IPRD clarified ways to prevent trafficking in persons, techniques
used by human traffickers, necessities for safeguarding human trafficked
victims, and the purpose of holding the contest for the students to use the
library and a wider scope of their knowledge efficiently.
Township Law Officer Daw Khaing Zin Aung
talked about incidents of trafficking in persons, laws related to human
trafficking, situations of happening trafficking of persons, and penalties and
punishment.
U Win Zaw, School Head of BEPS
(Taetheebyin), explained the contest rules.
After the contest, officials presented
prizes to the winning students. Afterwards, students interestingly observed
works from the wall magazine on the prevention and suppression of trafficking
in persons and child labour, in addition to the display of books and
