Myanmar welcomes over 800,000 foreign visitors in 10 months
ACCORDING to data from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, Myanmar received a total of 809,000 foreign visitors from January to October 2025, with Chinese, Thai, and Korean nationals forming the largest groups.
“The number of overseas visitors has declined slightly compared to last year’s figure. Most foreigners go to Yangon, Bago, Bagan, and Taunggyi, and some often visit the beaches in the Ayeyawady Region,” said a ministry official.
To facilitate international tourists visiting Myanmar, visa-related requirements are being relaxed. In addition, Myanmar is participating in international tourism exhibitions, organizing familiarization tours, and continuously carrying out digital tourism promotion activities.
As an ASEAN member country, Myanmar is promoting sustainable tourism through regional cooperation, adhering to ASEAN tourism standards, and encouraging the use of green energy in the tourism sector.
