RAKHINE State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, together with state ministers, visited and inspected the progress of major renovation work being carried out on the Sasana Beikman building within the precinct of the Lawkananda Pagoda in Sittway yesterday morning.
During the inspection, the chief minister instructed those responsible to carry out the renovation systematically in line with the original architectural design. He also examined the availability of construction materials and observed the ongoing major renovation works.
On the afternoon of 5 November, the chief minister also attended the 1/2025 meeting of the Rakhine State Investment Committee held at the meeting hall of the Rakhine State Government Office.
In his opening remarks, the chief minister said that key enterprises in Rakhine State — such as aquatic products processing, cold storage facilities, canning and packaging factories, the cultivation of major crops including rice, maize, beans, chillies, ginger, turmeric, and vegetables, as well as plantation crops like sugarcane, rubber, and oil palm – had all achieved significant progress. He added that livestock breeding of buffaloes, cattle, poultry, fish, prawns, and crabs, along with salt production, logistics, hotel, and tourism services, had also been successfully implemented across the state.
He noted that during the meeting, the Rakhine State Investment Committee would discuss proposals for amendments to approved permits and requests for extension of implementation periods. He encouraged participants to share their views and recommendations, stating that the committee would scrutinize and approve matters in line with existing laws, rules, and regulations.
Afterwards, the head of Rakhine State’s Investment and Company Administration, who is also the secretary of the Rakhine State Investment Committee, presented the proposals for approval. State ministers and committee members discussed and offered their suggestions on the presentations, after which the chief minister delivered closing remarks. — Tin Tun (IPRD)/KZL
