Tatmadaw delegates attends 26th ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting





TATMADAW delegation led by Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin, currently in Singapore to attend the 26th ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (26th ACAMM) on behalf of State Se­curity and Peace Commission Vice-Chair Deputy Command­er-in-Chief of Defence Services (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, attended the opening cere­monies of 26th ACAMM and 13th ASEAN Sergeant Majors Annual Meeting (ASMAM) yesterday.


At the meeting, Defence Minister of Singapore Mr Chan Chun Sing made an opening speech, and the Chief of ASEAN Armies and the delegate leaders exchanged views on Climate Ad­aptation in HADR Operations, and signed a joint declaration of the 26th ACAMM.


At noon, the Myanmar dele­gation separately met with Royal Brunei Land Force Commander Brigadier General Aldi bin Haji Hassan, Assistant Chief of Army of Thailand Lt-Gen Amarit Boon­suya, Chief of Army at Singapore Armed Forces Maj-Gen Xai Dex­ian, Malaysian Army Chief Gen­eral Maruli Simanjuntak, and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Laos People’s Army Maj- Gen Kongthong Soukhavong, and discussed further cooperation.


In the evening, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin and his wife attended the din­ner event hosted by Singapore­an Chief of Army Maj-Gen Cai Dexian and his wife. During the event, the Chief of the General Staff exchanged gifts with other participants.


Similarly, the Chief of the General Staff visited the My­anmar Embassy in Singapore, and met with staff and families of the embassy and the office of the Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air), and provid­ed them with foodstuffs. — MNA/ KTZH
